There are just so much to thank Him for. Recently have been quite a down turn for me. Things are good but somehow I felt the dissatisfaction in my heart. It feels like a fish out of water, there is just a constant struggle. Every morning I wake up and I feel lost. Don't know what lies ahead, no mood for anything, no direction. All I could do is to pray and rely on Him. Without Him, I really do not know how to ge by the day. There was such a desperate need for God. Never in my life I felt this before.

I believe God is molding me. He is developing the fruit of the spirit in me one by one. End of last year was patience, then was faithfulness and now is self control. One by one, God just put the word in my heart. This is definately not the most 'fun' time of my life but definately it is a very significant time in my life.

Many times we live either regreting our past or worrying about our future. I have been living like this. I forgot to live now. I have missed so many opportunities because I did not cherish the 'NOW'. And I realise that many times there are struggles in our lives because we want the things we want. We pray, we beg God, but many times we really do not know what we are asking for. The things that we desire might not be what God wants for us. The struggle can be over just by simply letting go of what we desire and yield ourselves to Him. Trusting His way is always the best for us. However, the letting go is not easy. It is a constant change of our mind and when the thought come, we need to keep reminding ourselves that God is in control now, not me.

I pray that my dear friend will live a abundant life, a life full of passion, zeal, courage for the future, that our struggles in life will be over and be in the will of God, serving and loving Him.

The difference between men and women

Was reading 'Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus'. I realised that men and women can think so differently. We interprete words and situation so differently. In the book, it is describe that men are like rubber bands, they have their intimacy cycle. When men are too emotionally close to a women, where they have acheive intimacy, they will tend to pull away because they need to fulfill their need for autonomy. In any close boy and girl relationship, it is important to know this so that women can give space to them and not be thinking so much into it, as if there is a problem in their relationship.

As for women, women are like waves. Our emotions goes up and down, sometimes suddenly. When we are feeling distress and upset, we need to talk. Sometimes men just could not understand why women are always so emotional and always need to talk.

In a relationship, it is about understanding and accomodating each other. We are all not perfect beings. To work out any relationship, we need to always put others first and not be selfish. To really think about it, I desire to be in a relationship but somehow feel that God is still moulding me and my future partner. I need to be satisfied by Him so that when I am in a relationship, I will not be distracted and demanding. Many times, it is because we have expectation that is why we are disappointed. I have wasted much of my time on guys that I like but is not for me. I will not waste my time anymore on anybody but I will seek Him and trust that in His perfect timing, He will bring the man to me, the man that will cherish me as the gift from God.

Great People Don't Quit

So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. Galatians 6:9 (NLT)

There are many things that work to keep us from completing our life-missions. Over the years, I’ve debated whether the worst enemy is procrastination or discouragement. If Satan can’t get us to put off our life missions, then he’ll try to get us to quit altogether.

The apostle Paul teaches that we need to resist discouragement: “So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up …” (Galatians 6:9 NLT). Do you ever get tired of doing what’s right? I think we all do.

Sometimes it seems easier to do the wrong thing than the right thing.
When we’re discouraged, we become ineffective.
When we’re discouraged, we work against our own faith.
When I’m discouraged, I’m saying, “It can’t be done.”
That’s the exact opposite of saying, “I know God can do it because he said ….”
If you’re discouraged, don’t give up without a fight.
Nothing worthwhile ever happens without endurance and energy.

When an artist starts to create a sculpture, he has to keep chipping away. He doesn’t hit the chisel with the hammer once, and suddenly all the excess stone falls away revealing a beautiful masterpiece. He keeps hitting it and hitting it, chipping away at the stone. And that’s true of life, too: Nothing really worthwhile ever comes easy in life. You keep hitting it and going after it, and little-by-little your life becomes a masterpiece of God’s grace. The fact is, great people are really just ordinary people with an extraordinary amount of determination.

Great people don’t know how to quit

How many times have we seen ourselves in this situation that when everything is going fine we forget about God.

Hebrews 5:14 - ....who by constant use have TRAINED themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Was reading this verse and the word 'TRAINED' jumped up at me. Trained... it means hard work and not only hard work but constant hard work. Have you ever tried to up keep a good figure. We trained our bodies but once we stop training, all the muscles will turn flabby again. I guess this is so with our spiritual life. We need to constant read God's word and pray to have a healthy spiritual life. Some people have master it. I was talking to Juliana about rejection just now. She asked: What makes you try again when you are rejected? I guess rejection is part and pieces of a man's life. We face rejection every single day. How do you feel when people say 'NO' to you? This will be one of the important concepts in our life.

I have come to realise that life is how we view it. Our thoughts determinds our action and our action determines our charactor and our charactor will determine our destiny. What we will become starts with our thinking. No wonder the word of God in Romans 12:2 asked us to renew our minds.

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12: 2

It is the same with rejection. It's all about how we view it. How we view rejection is going to affect how we feel. If we are going to view rejection as 'Oh.. The person is rejecting me', then you will feel the impact of being rejected. But it is viewed as this person is saying 'No' to me because of .... nothing personal, then it shall be the way.

We need to take control of our thoughts, the things that we allow to think about, to ponder about. It will either encourage or destroy us.

I'm soooo Bored

Feeling a little restless nowadays. Have been thinking about this question recently. Sometimes I really don’t know what I am asking for. I felt that I am running in circles, after I get out from one trouble, and without me knowing I have already landed in another trouble.

Today’s devotion says, when we pray using our own way, this is what we are going to face. Running in circles. We need to ask God to open our eyes and see what is it we really need. Many times what we think is best for us now may not be good for our future. I thank God that He did not give me just anything and everything I asked for, no matter how desperately I asked. Now when looking back, the things that I want at that time really might not be the best for me.

So we really need to pray and ask Him to show us what we really need so that we would not be wasting our time running in circles and going no where.

A lesson on TRUST

I thought I would never blog, but then again I thought it's good to write down the things that God has spoken to me.

And again, God still speaks today. He has been teaching me a lesson on 'TRUST'. A lesson that I had a long and hard time learning. Trust.. What is trust, I asked myself. I first understand the meaning of trust by learning to ride a bike. When riding a bike, you need to be able to put your feet up, let go and not trying to take control and relying on the person who holds your bike. It requires you to have faith in that person behind you. Trust is letting go and relying on Him.

In my life, there are areas that I would like to take control. Sometimes I run ahead of Him and try to do things my way. When I do that, I always messed up. But He is always gracious, always guiding me back to the path He has for me. I will learn to trust Him totally and hopefully, I learn this lesson fast and move on to the next thing.
