The difference between men and women

Was reading 'Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus'. I realised that men and women can think so differently. We interprete words and situation so differently. In the book, it is describe that men are like rubber bands, they have their intimacy cycle. When men are too emotionally close to a women, where they have acheive intimacy, they will tend to pull away because they need to fulfill their need for autonomy. In any close boy and girl relationship, it is important to know this so that women can give space to them and not be thinking so much into it, as if there is a problem in their relationship.

As for women, women are like waves. Our emotions goes up and down, sometimes suddenly. When we are feeling distress and upset, we need to talk. Sometimes men just could not understand why women are always so emotional and always need to talk.

In a relationship, it is about understanding and accomodating each other. We are all not perfect beings. To work out any relationship, we need to always put others first and not be selfish. To really think about it, I desire to be in a relationship but somehow feel that God is still moulding me and my future partner. I need to be satisfied by Him so that when I am in a relationship, I will not be distracted and demanding. Many times, it is because we have expectation that is why we are disappointed. I have wasted much of my time on guys that I like but is not for me. I will not waste my time anymore on anybody but I will seek Him and trust that in His perfect timing, He will bring the man to me, the man that will cherish me as the gift from God.

Great People Don't Quit

So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. Galatians 6:9 (NLT)

There are many things that work to keep us from completing our life-missions. Over the years, I’ve debated whether the worst enemy is procrastination or discouragement. If Satan can’t get us to put off our life missions, then he’ll try to get us to quit altogether.

The apostle Paul teaches that we need to resist discouragement: “So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up …” (Galatians 6:9 NLT). Do you ever get tired of doing what’s right? I think we all do.

Sometimes it seems easier to do the wrong thing than the right thing.
When we’re discouraged, we become ineffective.
When we’re discouraged, we work against our own faith.
When I’m discouraged, I’m saying, “It can’t be done.”
That’s the exact opposite of saying, “I know God can do it because he said ….”
If you’re discouraged, don’t give up without a fight.
Nothing worthwhile ever happens without endurance and energy.

When an artist starts to create a sculpture, he has to keep chipping away. He doesn’t hit the chisel with the hammer once, and suddenly all the excess stone falls away revealing a beautiful masterpiece. He keeps hitting it and hitting it, chipping away at the stone. And that’s true of life, too: Nothing really worthwhile ever comes easy in life. You keep hitting it and going after it, and little-by-little your life becomes a masterpiece of God’s grace. The fact is, great people are really just ordinary people with an extraordinary amount of determination.

Great people don’t know how to quit

How many times have we seen ourselves in this situation that when everything is going fine we forget about God.

Hebrews 5:14 - ....who by constant use have TRAINED themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Was reading this verse and the word 'TRAINED' jumped up at me. Trained... it means hard work and not only hard work but constant hard work. Have you ever tried to up keep a good figure. We trained our bodies but once we stop training, all the muscles will turn flabby again. I guess this is so with our spiritual life. We need to constant read God's word and pray to have a healthy spiritual life. If not it is so easy to just slipped away into our relax mode and God need to put another trouble in our lives to get our attention again.

Hold me never let me go

Emo, emo.... Why am I so emo recently. I had an arguement with mum yesterday. I was very very upset. It's been a long time since I felt sooo upset and angry.

There are so many things happening in my life. I'm so lost. I really don't know how to cope with it.

I realise I have let my mind run wild for too long. From this, I have learnt to never entertain a wrong thought. Just a wrong thought may lead to wrong emotions. God has been teaching me a lot recently. He's really moulding me. The process is tough and painful but I know I will come out strong and shining.

I'll walk with you wherever you may lead and I know you hold my hand and you will never let go.

The art of Rejection

Rejection, most people fear it most. Some people have master it. I was talking to Juliana about rejection just now. She asked: What makes you try again when you are rejected? I guess rejection is part and pieces of a man's life. We face rejection every single day. How do you feel when people say 'NO' to you? This will be one of the important concepts in our life.

I have come to realise that life is how we view it. Our thoughts determinds our action and our action determines our charactor and our charactor will determine our destiny. What we will become starts with our thinking. No wonder the word of God in Romans 12:2 asked us to renew our minds.

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12: 2

It is the same with rejection. It's all about how we view it. How we view rejection is going to affect how we feel. If we are going to view rejection as 'Oh.. The person is rejecting me', then you will feel the impact of being rejected. But it is viewed as this person is saying 'No' to me because of .... nothing personal, then it shall be the way.

We need to take control of our thoughts, the things that we allow to think about, to ponder about. It will either encourage or destroy us.

I'm soooo Bored

Feeling a little restless nowadays. Everything seems so monotonous. Work, msn, church, serve, cell group, mamak, movies, fellowships.. I need some adventure. I need some excitement in life. Something that can make me feel excited again. Maybe I should learn something, go somewhere, do something extra ordinary. Pick up a instument or something like that. I don't know. I need to be motivated again.

Do you know what to ask for?

Hmm.. Have been thinking about this question recently. Sometimes I really don’t know what I am asking for. I felt that I am running in circles, after I get out from one trouble, and without me knowing I have already landed in another trouble.

Today’s devotion says, when we pray using our own way, this is what we are going to face. Running in circles. We need to ask God to open our eyes and see what is it we really need. Many times what we think is best for us now may not be good for our future. I thank God that He did not give me just anything and everything I asked for, no matter how desperately I asked. Now when looking back, the things that I want at that time really might not be the best for me.

So we really need to pray and ask Him to show us what we really need so that we would not be wasting our time running in circles and going no where.

A lesson on TRUST

I thought I would never blog, but then again I thought it's good to write down the things that God has spoken to me.

And again, God still speaks today. He has been teaching me a lesson on 'TRUST'. A lesson that I had a long and hard time learning. Trust.. What is trust, I asked myself. I first understand the meaning of trust by learning to ride a bike. When riding a bike, you need to be able to put your feet up, let go and not trying to take control and relying on the person who holds your bike. It requires you to have faith in that person behind you. Trust is letting go and relying on Him.

In my life, there are areas that I would like to take control. Sometimes I run ahead of Him and try to do things my way. When I do that, I always messed up. But He is always gracious, always guiding me back to the path He has for me. I will learn to trust Him totally and hopefully, I learn this lesson fast and move on to the next thing.
